As this local sanitation campaign intensifies, the catches multiply, the daily said. As for petty dealers and members of psychotropic and other narcotics trafficking networks, they found themselves with their backs to the wall. Some of them have even decided to look elsewhere and change their minds for a while, hoping this campaign will be limited in time. Others fell squarely into the hands of the police.
The most recent case, the daily indicates, concerns two young dealers, a young woman and her companion, who were arrested. After searching their vehicle, the police came across a large quantity of psychotropic drugs as well as a large quantity of other strong drugs. The drugs and the car were seized and the two dealers were placed under arrest warrants on instructions from the prosecution. A third person, suspected of being their accomplice, is actively sought. She reportedly went to the occupied town of Sebta where she is currently hiding.
An investigation was opened under the supervision of the public prosecutor. The Tetouan judicial police will try to identify the suppliers of the two dealers and to arrest any other members of the network. It is clear that the aim of this campaign, launched at the start of the summer season, is not only to hunt down dealers, but also to dismantle the networks of suppliers who supply them with psychotropic and other types of drugs.
The police were able to learn, in fact, that with the arrival of the summer season and the return of the MRE for their summer vacation, several drug trafficking networks that were active in other regions of the Morocco have decided to move their headquarters to the cities of the North.
This campaign, which targets drug trafficking, notes the daily, is particularly concentrated, as specified above, on the towns of Fnideq and M’diq, but also in Martil, towns which are very busy during the summer. It is directly supervised by the prefecture of the police of Tetouan.
